Oscar 2013 winners: Daniel Day-Lewis wins Best Actor

ABC/BOB D'AMICO

Daniel Day-Lewis and Hugh Jackman were nominated for an Oscar for best actor in a leading role for their performances in the movies “Lincoln” and “Les Misérables”.

In addition to the two actors, also nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor were Denzel Washington (“Flight”), Bradley Cooper (“Silver Linings Playbook”) and Joaquin Phoenix (“The Master”).

Daniel Day-Lewis and his performance in Spielberg’s “Lincoln” won many votes.

But Bradley Cooper, a fragile and completely crazy hero in “Silver Linings Playbook” or Denzel Washington in “Flight” were also credible candidates for the statuette for best actor.

The nominations for Best Actor are:

• Bradley Cooper – Silver Linings Playbook

• Hugh Jackman – Les Misérables

• Joaquin Phoenix – The Master

• Denzel Washington – Flight

Daniel Day-Lewis – Lincoln
