According to DigiTimes, Apple is currently working on an “Ultra HD” or “4K” TV set with an image resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.
The report states that Apple and Foxconn are reportedly in negotiations to mass produce Ultra HD televisions, a phase which could begin in the second half of 2013.
The iTV will also support speech and movement recognition features, like Siri is already available on the iPhone and the iPad.
Apple is in talks with LG Display for the mass production of 4K panels starting with the second half of the year.
This would mean a potential arrival at the end of the year, but more likely in early 2014.
