According to Computerworld, the next Apple smartphone will apparently be equipped with the powerful graphics chip PowerVR series 6, called Rogue, from Imagination Technologies.
The company could thus set new standards in the smartphone graphics area.
Apple would handle this GPU in a new chip design for the next iPhone.
The iPhone 5 also uses an Imagination PowerVR graphics chip. However, it is a relatively old model from the G5 series.
The new entry-level PowerVR G6100 GPU core was recently introduced by Imagination.
The site writes that the advantage of the new chip is that it offers more power than the previous generation and extended battery life.
