A Forbes report states that the Redmond company has opted for a more classy name for its next console – Xbox Infinity.
The publication also cites multiple sources at Microsoft who claim that the device’s controllers will integrate a touch-sensitive area that will support gestures and other functions.
In addition, according to recent reports, the next Xbox may actually not need an always-on Internet connection.
The decision on whether a constant Internet connection will be needed for a game should be decided by the game developer.
Microsoft has reportedly formalized the announcement of the new Xbox for Tuesday, May 21, sending out invitations to the media to attend an event.
The name of the event, “A New Generation Revealed,” doesn’t seem to leave any doubt on the company’s agenda.
