iPhone 5S rumors: new 1080p FaceTime camera feature?

According to Engadget, the manufacturer Omnivision, which provides the image sensor for the iPhone 5, revealed a new sensor model today.

The company announced the launch of the sensor OmniVision OV2724 which can record movies in Full HD and take good pictures in low light conditions.

Measuring 5x5x3, 5 mm, it is capable of recording 1080p video with 60 frames per second.

However, Engadget writes that mass production of the new sensor will start in the summer quarter, so new phones featuring the tech aren’t likely to hit the market in the next few months.
