E! News reports that JLo was asked to appear as a guest star on the final show on May 15 or 16.
Rumors about a possible comeback of the diva on the show started circulating last week when it was reported that Idol producers were trying to put together a plan to bring her back.
The measure would have been taken following the worst ratings since the show’s first season and the managers were reportedly giving the boot to Mariah Carey or Nicki Minaj.
“There will definitely be changes to the judging panel for next season,” a source told E! News last week.
“Fox thought the Nicki-Mariah contrast would make for ratings, but there is concern it is like nails on [a] chalkboard for middle-America viewers.”
However, a rep for the show denied the allegations, telling the site, “This is just another ridiculous Idol judge rumor, likely started by talks of Jennifer performing on the finale.”
But a performance confirmation only comes reinforcing rumor.
