Regarding her relationship with Gerard Butler she shared a few details, but said nothing about a breakup.
OK!: Where exactly were you in New York and what did you say to each other when you met?
MG: At a party. He gave all the details.
OK!: I know that three days later he came to Milan, at your door. How did he find out the address?
MG: He called me from the airport when he arrived and asked me where I lived.
OK!: How was the next date?
MG: We moved together practically from day one.
OK!: How did you get to be so important to him, of all the women in the world, what made him choose you?
MG: Only he can answer that question.
OK!: What’s the nicest thing he told you?
MG: I keep that to myself. These are my memories. They remain in my heart.
OK!: What were the simplest, most natural moments in your relationship when you enjoyed life together?
MG: We are simple and the easiest things are miracles for us. In the second week of our relationship, we went to Scotland. We rented a car and roamed the country up and down, with no hotel or restaurant reservations. Every night, we slept in another city, in the simplest hostels. One night, we even risked and slept in the car. It was in a small town and it was busy.
OK!: Did Gerard ever ask you for explanations about the photo where you appeared opposite Leonardo DiCaprio? Or about the alleged relationship with Eros Ramazzotti?
MG: Yes, we both lists made with all the nonsense that was written about us and we questioned each other. If I stand in this business as long as he did, my list will be as long as his when I’m 43, even if perhaps many of the people that will be in that list will be persons that I’ve barely talked to.
Although she refused to talk about her breakup from Butler, Madalina explained what she meant when she said that she was going through a difficult time.
OK!: I noticed you had tears in your eyes whenever Mihai Gadea, from the only TV show you attended since you came in Romania, asked a question about Gerard. Are you in love, taken up and happy or confused, disappointed and sad?
MG: I hate that I cry so easily. I’ve been like that since I was born: I cry from love, from being taken up, confused, disappointed or sad. I cry over anything.
OK!: What did you mean by the statement you made recently: “This is a difficult time in my life?”
MG: God wanted me to travel to the four corners of the world, but I also stay far away from people and places. It’s becoming increasingly difficult for me. At 14, when I left home, I saw everything differently. I saw no evil, aggression, smugness, lack of education, stupidity. All this success (please allow me to call it success) is the result of 11 years of honest work.Loneliness is unbearable. I’m still taken aback when a friend betrays me, I still do not get used to this. These days I’m suffering from loneliness. I’d like to have those who love me always with me. I’m afraid I might lose them, I haven’t given them the time they deserve.
Madalina also talked about her biggest disappointment in love that she suffered at the age of 20, when her fiancé cheated on her, and about her tastes in men.
OK!: Have you ever been cheated on?
MG: Yes, I was. My first boyfriend became a father while we were making plans for a marriage. We were kids, I was 20 years old. I went through a tragedy, but God took care of me. Now I see things differently.
OK!: I think you can have any man, just by fluttering your eyelashes. How do you pick them?
MG: I do not want and cannot have any man. I do not make a selection, I simply fall in love. I’m a human, not a robot. Sometimes I wish I was a robot, and press the button and get over falling in love, so that I can make a selection and choose the best suitor. But I like the bad guys, I have an attraction to bad guys. (she laughs)
Lately all sorts of rumors appeared regarding their separation. A tabloid in Romania speculated that Ghenea had fallen into a depression after her breakup from the actor.
Then there were reports that the Scottish actor flirted with Jennifer Aniston and Katy Perry. Even the Italian press wrote that the two were separated based on a picture of Madalian and her so-called ex-boyfriend footballer Marco Borriello.
It is true that Ghenea addressed a possible breakup in an interview but on general terms.
“The media has eventually been really, I don’t know … I want to thank journalists in Romania, in Italy, everyone, because nobody did any harm in that sense. Ultimately, I don’t know what could be seen as negative in my relationship. Then if this relationship is over, I ask everyone in advance to be the same as before and not scold me, not be upset with me,” she said.
Then the show’s host asked if it’s possible that the two would separate.
“If there is any possibility? It’s personal life, it is a very personal detail. But that’s how it is, unfortunately we live in a world where relationships end more quickly than they should,” Madalina answered.
Besides the interview for OK! Romania, earlier this month, upon her arrival in her native country, Madalina granted an interview in which she spoke about her relationship with boyfriend Gerard Butler.
