While his co-star Michael Caine, 80, responds to questions from reporters, Freeman is seen snoozing a few times during the live interview on Wednesday with Fox’s Seattle-Tacoma affiliate TV station, Q13.
In “Now You See Me” Freeman appears alongside Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco and Woody Harrelson, a group of illusionists known as the “four horsemen”.
They use their magic techniques as a cover to steal from the rich and help those who lost everything in the economic crisis.
The movie, which was directed by Louis Leterrier, also stars actors Mark Ruffalo and Melanie Laurent, best known for her role in Quentin Tarantinos “Inglorious Basterds.”
Freeman gets back to his senses in the middle of the transmission, but still has problems in trying to keeps his eyes open.
After the interview Freeman gave an explanation for his behavior: “I wasn’t actually sleeping,” he told People. “I’m a beta tester for Google Eyelids. I was merely updating my Facebook page.”
