New 16 GB iPod Touch teardown reveals few internal changes

The latest version of the music player has no rear camera and the price is lower.

The rest seems very much similar to the latest generation of iPod Touch.

The model uses the same 5-inch Retina display and A5 processor, which was previously featured on the iPhone 4S.

The difference is the capacity of the storage for the new generation that is available in one model only – 16GB, unlike previous generations who offered the 32GB and 64GB versions.

iFixit teardown experts performed a teardown of the device to see whether the internal structure is different.

The rear camera and the support for Apple’s Loop wrist strap are missing. The components are arranged somewhat differently, but otherwise remain unchanged.
