The young princess, who turns 31 on Monday, is the third child of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.
She met her husband in New York, where he works for the World Childhood Foundation charity association founded by her mother.
The young couple married Saturday afternoon in the chapel of the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

After the ceremony at the chapel royal guests went on a boat ride to Riddarholmen Island, at Drottningholm Castle, where the wedding party took place and where Madeleine was born in 1982.
