The actress’ opinions have much to do with her latest role in “The Bling Ring,” a movie about a gang of teenagers that enter the homes of rich people, such as Paris Hilton, and steal designer clothes.
Paris Hilton allowed filming in her house, and for Watson, Hilton’s wardrobe was huge.
“It’s almost like consumerism as a form of kleptomania,” she said.
“She could never wear all of those clothes and half of them were brand new and still had the price tag on.”
“But I suppose she just bought them to have them. We’ve all bought things on impulse but that’s an entirely different thing.”
Watson admits having a smaller number of shoes: “I’ve got about eight pairs of shoes and that’s it.”
In her most recent interview, the 23-year-old admits that she might seem hypocritical, because while she said all those things, the actress was dressed in designer clothes.
“But it’s easy for me to sound like a total hypocrite because, of course, I’m dressed in designer clothes right now,” she told Radio Times.
But there is a difference between the looks for the red carpet when promoting a film and everyday style.
Plus, the actress is down to earth and has only clothes she needs in her wardrobe, she doesn’t keep them labeled.
