Alicia Silverstone launches breast milk sharing program for moms with not enough milk for their kids

The actress, who has a two year old boy, Bear Blu, with her husband, Christopher Jarecki, established the Kind Mama Milk Share program.

In a posting on her blog, TheKindLife.com, Alicia has revealed the idea that started it. The actress recounted that another mom gave her an email in which she told her that after a surgical intervention of breast reduction she could not produce enough milk for her baby.

“She tried reaching out in her community for donor milk, but it was almost impossible to figure out what kind of lifestyle choices the donors had made. And after all that hard work keeping herself vibrant and healthy, she felt she had a right to demand better for her baby,” the actress wrote.

Also, Alicia Silverstone encouraged mothers who need milk or are willing to donate milk to participate in this program.

“If you have milk to share–post it here! If you are in need of milk–post it here! Think of all the babies we can help raise together!” she wrote.
