“We ask that everyone kindly respect Lea’s privacy during this devastating time,” Michele’s rep said in a statement to People.

Cory and Lea had been a couple for a little over a year and she expressed her support when he decided to check himself into rehab for substance abuse.

“I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this,” she said at the time. “I am grateful and proud he made this decision.”

“I don’t even remember a time when he wasn’t my boyfriend,” she told Marie Claire in January 2013.

“No one knows me better than Cory. No one knows what it’s been like to go through this more than he does…He makes me feel like I can do anything. For the first time in my life, I feel really, really settled and happy. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.”

Celebrities have taken to Twitter to express their grief over Corey’s death.
