According to sources cited by DigiTimes, the company has boosted the pace of its integrated circuit (IC) orders ahead of the release of new handsets in the fall.

The publication rites that chip orders for the next iPhones and iPads in the second half of this year could total 70% of Apple’s chip orders in 2013.

An earlier report stated that a delay caused by problems with components of the device may postpone the release of the iPhone 5S.

The next iPhone is expected to be released in the fall with new features including a faster processor and a 12-megapixel camera with a dual-LED flash.
