KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo believes that due to production issues the iPhone 5S will be available in short supply at its release in late September.
This seems to be in line with a previous report claiming that the integration of the new fingerprint scanner into the Home button poses problems in the manufacturing of the device.
The analyst expects the iPhone 5S supply will improve in October or November.
Regarding the iPhone Lite, Kuo said the handset will be available for launch sooner since the production process in this case doesn’t pose difficulties.
Kuo also claims there will be no new iPad mini with Retina display this fall. Instead, he expects a cheaper model to enter production around December, and an upgraded iPad mini set for release in March or April 2014.
