The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge showed up on the steps of St. Mary’s hospital in London on Tuesday with their newborn baby.
They stopped for a few minutes to greet the crowd and speak with journalists.
“He’s got a good pair of lungs that’s for sure, he’s a big boy,” Prince William said, before adding jokingly, “He’s got her looks, thankfully.”
Kate was dressed in a baby blue polka dot dress.
“It’s such a special time. Any parent will know what this feels like,” she said before handing the baby boy to her husband.
“He’s a big boy. He’s quite heavy,” he said. “We’re still working on a name. We’ll have that as soon as we can.”
The proud dad also commented on the baby’s hair saying, “He has way more than me, thank God.”
The couple then returned inside the hospital and walked out a bit later. William placed the child in a car seat and drove his family home to Kensington Palace.
William and Kate thanked the hospital staff in a statement from the Palace.
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge will be discharged this evening from St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their son will travel home to Kensington Palace. Their Royal Highnesses would like to reiterate their thanks to the hospital for the care and treatment they have all received.”
