iPhone 5S: fingerprint sensor confirmed by iOS 7 Beta 4 code

The iOS 4 beta 7 has just been released to developers and enterprising users have already found clues in this pre-release version of the operating system.

As noted by Hamza Sood (via 9to5Mac), the thousands of files of iOS 7 beta 4 contain a file named BiometricKitUI.

The file contains info on how to use a fingerprint sensor on an iPhone and they include:

“- Photo of a person holding an iPhone with their left hand while touching the Home button with their thumb
– Photo of a person holding an iPhone with their right hand while touching the Home button with their thumb
– A fingerprint that changes colour during the setup process.
– Recognition is %@ complete”

Last year Apple acquired AuthenTec, a company specializing in fingerprint recognition, sparking rumors about the integration of this technology into the iPhone 5S.
