Samsung launches contest on flexible display

Samsung invites people to submit ideas of devices that use the company’s flexible screen technology.

The smartphone maker is looking “to encourage designers, hardware engineers and entrepreneurs to begin thinking about future start-ups ideas using flexible display technology.”

The top three winning ideas will be rewarded $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500, and they will be evaluated according to the importance of the displays to the overall design.

However, the company notes that participants won’t get any details regarding the date they could get any prototype components if their devices have chances to become real.

The devices could feature displays ranging from 1-20 inches, with a full-HD resolution of 1920×1080.
