According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 5C could serve as a mid-range smartphone with a selling price around $ 400 and $ 500.
For the entry-level offer, Apple could make the current iPhone 5 disappear from the range, but keep selling the iPhone 4S in emerging markets.
This puts an end to Apple’s policy of selling the latest iPhone version at a discount price once a newer model is available.
Apple has begun the process of making a special version of the iPhone 5C that will be available to operators in China, but won’t be produced in larger quantities than the iPhone 5S.
Kuo also states that Apple and China Mobile will settle an agreement for the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C this year.
