“We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular super heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill and then some,” said Greg Silverman, president of Warner Bros.
The film, which doesn’t have a title yet, will be directed by Zack Snyder, the filmmaker who already directed “Man of Steel”, and Brit Henry Cavill will resume the role of Superman.
Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will also star in the film.
“Ben provides an interesting counterbalance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne,” director Zack Snyder said in a statement.
We’ll see Batman and Supeman for the first time in the same movie.
