In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jonathan Rhys Meyers says his presence in the cast of the next Star Wars installment, directed by director JJ Abrams, is mere speculation.
“Look, I’ve worked with J.J.,” he says. “But I don’t believe rumors.”
The 36-year-old actor starred as Henry VIII on The Tudors and was cast in JJ Abrams’ Mission: Impossible III in 2006.
“To be honest, I don’t watch many movies,” he explains. “There’s very, very few films that I will go to the cinema to see. I’ll go to the cinema to see anything by Paul Thomas Anderson or Nicholas Winding Refn or Mike Leigh or Steven Spielberg. But I don’t go to the cinema very often. I read a lot.”
Star Wars Episode VII will be released in cinemas in 2015. Directed by JJ Abrams, the movie will be based on a screenplay by Michael Arndt.
