Gerard Butler, Alicia Keys, Olivia Wilde among stars attending concert against global poverty in New York – VIDEO

At this concert over 60,000 people were present. Organizers say their goal is to eradicate global poverty by 2030.

Gerard Butler announced the presence of the Kings of Leon at the concert on Twitter, while Alicia Keys published on her website a message to fans urging them to mobilize to make a positive change in our world.

The 32-year-old singer performed “New Day” and “Listen to Your Heart”.

John Mayer took the stage and sang the songs “Waiting on the World to Change” and “Wildfire.”

Olivia Wilde praised on Twitter the sensational performance offered by Stevie Wonder at the same concert.

The Global Citizen Festival 2013 was organized in order to raise awareness among the public on other humanitarian causes as well, such as education, gender equality and global health.
