Spears addressed reports she may be lip syncing during her upcoming Las Vegas residency in an interview with Chicago’s KISS FM on Friday.
“I’m definitely going to be singing live,” she said. “I always sing live. It doesn’t sound so great all the time, but I do my best.”
Just a week ago Britney’s manager Larry Rudolph confirmed that she will be singing live.
“It’s hard for the public to fully understand what goes on when you get on stage and you’re dancing full out during a song,” Rudolph told Billboard. “No matter what anyone says, there’s not a single artist who goes out there and does full choreography and is singing without a vocal track underneath them at the same time. It’s physically impossible.”
In the interview the 31-year-old talked about being pressured into being overly se–al.
“A lot of sex goes into what I do. But sometimes I would like to bring it back to the old days when there was like one outfit through the whole video and you’re dancing the whole video, and there’s like not that much s-x stuff going on,” she explained.
“It’s about the dance, and it’s about being old-school. It’s like keeping it real and just making it about the dance. I’d love to do a video like that.”
Britney’s Las Vegas shows kick off on December 27.
