Apple increases iPhone 5S production by 75%, reduces iPhone 5C by 35%

According to a report by NPD DisplaySearch, Apple has adopted an increase in iPhone 5S orders and a reduction of production for the iPhone 5C.

The report reads: “While the fate of the iPhone 5c is still to be determined, the iPhone 5s is doing quite well, indicating that Apple still has a strong hardcore base for its premium devices. It is worth mentioning that iPhone 5 production is scheduled to end Q3 2013; iPhone 4s’s end of life is still to be determined, as it still receives orders of 1 to 2 million units per month and only recently started selling in Indonesia.”

A similar report this week by The Wall Street Journal stated that both Foxconn and Pegatron have received notifications from Apple to reduce the number of iPhone 5C units produced daily in Q4 of 2014.

Shipping estimates for the iPhone 5S were listed as 2-3 weeks earlier this month.

The iPhone 5S and 5C are set to debut in more than 25 countries on October 25th.
