According to E! News, a marriage license was filed in Sumner County, near Nashville on Tuesday (15 Oct), which gives the couple 30 days to wed.
The document is signed with their full names, Kelly Brianne Clarkson and Narvel Brandon Blackstock.
Clarkson initially planned a big backyard wedding with 200 guests, sunflowers and yellow roses, but they eventually decided to elope instead of throwing a big party.
“OK, this is why it’s confusing,” she recently told E! News, referring to rumors that they had already married. “I’m not married yet, because we had a wedding planned, like a huge one—and we still have a wedding planned, but we’re not doing the big huge one.”
She also revealed earlier this month that she had to choose between three wedding dresses for the day she will marry: Marchesa, Monique Lhuillier and Temperley wedding gowns. She finally went for the Temperley dress.
Clarkson, 31, and Blackstock, 35, sent an engagement photo to their guests, which read, “Thank you so much, but it’s just going to be me and Brandon and his two kids and the minister.”
The singer recently confessed that she already has babies on her mind.
“I want babies, like, right off the bat!” she said on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show this month. “Well, I’m totally gonna have a girl. My first child will be a girl—I know it in my soul.”
Clarkson’s Christmas album, Wrapped in Red, will be released on Oct. 29.
