The 9.7-inch tablet is “thinner, lighter, and more powerful than ever before,” according to Apple SVP Phil Schiller.
The new tablet is 20% thinner than the previous version and it features the same A7 chip that can be found on the iPhone 5S, making it up to 8 times faster.
The device uses MiMo technology that enables accessing WiFi networks with up to 300 Mbps and 4G LTE support for multiple networks.
It also equipped with a new 5-megapixel iSight camera and a FaceTime HD camera, 1080p video recording, two microphones for recording videos, and a 10-hour battery life.
Gray and silver versions are available for the same price as before – $399.
iPad Air will be released on November 1.
