Research provided by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) has shown that the space gray iPhone 5S was the most popular choice among consumers in the U.S.
43 % of the sold smartphones were space gray, followed by 30 % for silver and 27 % gold.
The silver and gold supplies were less constrained than the ones for space gray, but Apple have been known to have a preference for the black variant.
In the case of the iPhone 5C, the most popular color option was blue with 27 % of the total sales.
Next was white with 25 %, green scored 21 %, pink came in at 20 % and finally the yellow iPhone 5C was the least favorite color, at just 7 %.
In terms of gender, the research showed women opted for the silver iPhone 5S, whereas men went for space gray. Both genders equally preferred the gold iPhone.
White and blue were men’s picks for the iPhone 5C, while women chose the pink smartphone.
