Sony PlayStation 4 teardown reveals components

Technology site Wired partnered with Sony’s engineering director Yasuhiro Ootori the disassembling of the PlayStation 4.

The result of this session is visible in several pictures but especially in a video posted by the site.

The internal hardware is shown and explained in its various components, revealing the combination of an 8-core AMD “Jaguar” CPU with an AMD Radeon GPU.

The incorporation of the internal power supply is also presented, the 8GB of GDDR5 memory, as well as the 85-millimeter centrifugal fan.

Sony’s new console will be launched on November 15 in the U.S. and November 29 in Europe.
