iPhone 5S, 5C attract fewer upgrades from previous Apple smartphones

A research by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners that questioned 400 buyers of the iPhone 5S and 5C has shown that almost 65% of total iPhone 5S and 5C buyers were owners of an iPhone, which 10% higher compared to last year’s iPhone 5 purchasers.

The study revealed that only 6% upgraded from the iPhone 5.

This could be explained by the fact that Apple’s new smartphones are not major overhauls of the company’s flagship phone, as they bring rather minor upgrades to the device.

Short supplies of the iPhone 5S may have also been a cause for iPhone 5 owners’ lack of interest in the new handset.
