Miley Cyrus sees herself as “one of the biggest feminists in the world”

Although often criticized for her looks, Cyrus believes she actually stands up for the women of the world.

“I feel like I’m one of the biggest feminists in the world because I tell women to not be scared of anything,” the singer said in an interview with BBC’s Newsbeat on Wednesday. “Girls are all beautiful.”

“You’ve got about 90 years — hopefully we all live to be 105 — you’ve got about 105 years on this earth and, like, you should be happy every single one of those [years],” she continued.

“There’s no reason to not be. It’s like, as long as you’re breathing, you should just find the best in everything.”

As for how she handles the criticism aimed at her, the former Disney star says she doesn’t read what others have to say about her.

“I don’t ever go online or look at what anyone says,” she said.

“I never worry about what I do on stage making me look bad because I know what kind of a person I am. In life you gottta look at anything that could be made negative into positive…I’m just happy to be here.”
