Gisele Bündchen learned English with the help of Boyz II Men and Mariah Carey

The Brazilian supermodel showed up on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Monday, and she opened up about her struggle to communicate when she went to castings. She was 16, and she only knew Portuguese and a little of Spanish.

When the host asked her about how she managed to learn English, the mom-of-two responded: “My wonderful cassette tapes, Boyz II Men and Mariah Carey, saved my life!”

“They were great teachers, so I have to thank them one day if I ever meet them in person. They were very inspiring,” she added.

Bündchen, who has two children, son Benjamin, 4, and daughter Vivian, 13 months, with her husband Tom Brady, also revealed that she speaks with her son only in Portuguese.
