iPhone 6 rumors: Touch ID sensors to enter production in Q2

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), which is credited with the production of A-series processors for the next iPhone and iPad, is going to start production of new chips for the smartphone, Digitimes reports.

The publication writes that in the second quarter of 2014 TSMC will start producing fingerprint sensors using a 65nm process technology.

In order to increase the rate of production, TSMC will shift from the current 8-inch fab to a larger 12-inch fab.
