Oscar nominations 2014: movies that could win the statuette

The nominations for the 86th edition of the Academy Awards were announced Thursday in a press conference by Chris Hemsworth and Cheryl Boone Isaacs, president of the Academy of American film.

“Gravity” and “American Hustle” received most nominations, namely 10, while “12 Years a Slave” scored nine nominations.

This year, nine movies have entered the race for the Best Picture award: “American Hustle,” “Gravity,” “12 Years a Slave,” “Nebraska,” “Captain Phillips,” “Dallas Buyers Club,” “Her,” “Philomena,” and “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
