McDermott has entered rehab, stating that he took this decision in order to resolve some personal issues.

“I am truly sorry for the mistakes I have made and for the pain I’ve caused my family,” McDermott, 47, told People. “I take full responsibility for my actions and have voluntarily checked myself into a treatment center to address some health and personal issues. I am grateful to be getting the help I need so I can become the husband and father my family deserves.”

Last year, Emily Goodhand, 28, claimed that she had had an affair with Tori Spelling’s husband in a hotel in Toronto.

This month a source told People that the actress, 40, is “devastated.”

Spelling and McDermott were married in May, 2006, and have four children, Finn, 15 months, Hattie, 2, Stella, 5½, and Liam, 6½.

McDermott also has a son Jack, 15, from his previous marriage to Mary Jo Eustace.
