“We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,” Patton, 38, and Thicke, 36, told People.
The couple met when they were teenagers, when Thicke was 14, and married in 2005. The two had a son, Julian Fuego, born in 2010.
Last year, in September, Thicke opened up in an interview with Prestige Hong Kong Magazine about what his wife meant for him.
“I don’t know if I would still be alive in some ways if it wasn’t for Paula,” he said. “She’s been my rock, my muse, my inspiration, and I love her.”
