The Apple CEO talked about the production of certain components in the US, including the sapphire factory in Mesa, Arizona.

Cook revealed that this plant is actually intended for a “secret project” but he didn’t reveal what type of products will use the material, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The CEO also said that the company is working on “extensions of what we’re already doing” and “things you can’t see”.

He argued that the secretive aspect is important because Apple is “getting ripped off left, right and sideways” by competitors.

The plant in Arizona is expected to produce sapphire glass displays for the iPhone 6.

Recent reports claim that Apple intends to build the iPhone 6 with sapphire glass panels and the factory opened in partnership with Advanced GT would provide components for the smartphone.
