According to Apple supply chain cited by Digitimes, Taiwanese suppliers believe MacBook shipments to fall to 10 million units this year.
However, at the same time, other supply chain makers expect new models to be released in the second half of the year, namely a MacBook Air with Retina display.
The report echoes a rumor that appeared last week, claiming that Apple is planning the release of a 12-inch Macbook without a fan and a mechanical button.
In addition, earlier this month it was reported that production and sales of the 13-inch non-Retina MacBook Pro had been stopped.
Last year in October KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo speculated that a 12-inch MacBook with a Retina Display could be launched in 2014.
