iPhone 6 release date: next iPhone’s display production to start in May, phablet could get delayed

According to a Reuters report citing sources close to the supply chain, Apple is preparing 4.7 and 5.5 inches iPhones.

Production of 4.7-inch screens will begin in early May and the launch of the iPhone 6 with the 4.7 inch screen is scheduled for fall.

According to sources, the industry is having difficulty integrating “in-cell” technology on a screen as large as 5.5 inches.

Production of these bigger displays has therefore been delayed for several months, Reuters says.

Japan Display, Sharp and LG Display have been authorized by Apple to produce these components.

No representatives of these companies have agreed to comment on this information.
