“I’m not good at that stuff not at all,” Lambert, 30, told PEOPLE Country about hosting. “I would totally fall flat on my face.”

“My comedic timing isn’t good,” she said. “You know, the timing you naturally have to have. Blake is the best. I don’t know how he does it.”

She does however have plenty of other reasons to be excited about as she has scored seven ACM nominations. Her husband Blake Shelton is nominated for five awards.

Also, during the show Miranda and George Strait will pay tribute to Merle Haggard performing his 1966 hit “The Bottle Let Me Down.”

“I’m totally pumped. I’m singing for Merle Haggard with George Strait. Do you get any better than that? I’ve reached my peak,” she told Billboard.

“Since I started in the business, people would ask me who my biggest influence is,” she continued. “I would always say Merle Haggard. But it’s true. He is absolutely the king, in my opinion, for his songwriting and his voice, how buttery smooth it is, and the way he delivers songs. I hope I do him justice. I’ve met him a bunch of times and I think he’ll be proud.”

The Academy of Country Music Awards will be broadcast on CBS Sunday at 8 p.m.
