This is the 25th edition of the special issue of People dedicated to the 50 most beautiful celebrities in the world.
Lupita Nyong’o was born in Mexico and grew up in Kenya, and graduated at Yale School of Drama in 2012.
The 31-year-old actress starred in the MTV series “Shuga,” and she starred in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave, for which she won this year’s Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Nyong’o considers that this title “is a major, major compliment,” adding, “I was happy for all the girls who would see me on [it] and feel a little more seen.”
Last year, People named Gwyneth Paltrow the most beautiful person in the world.
