Reuters reports that Apple has been recruiting sensor technology experts in the last few weeks, presumably to work on sensors for monitoring health.
In addition, a mobile health executive who requested anonymity told Reuters that he recently met with an executive of Apple from the iWatch team.
He told the publication that Cupertino is allegedly working on a health and fitness platform that is based on the same concept as the App Store.
The hiring has also been confirmed by two sources close to the company and LinkedIn profiles of those hired.
It is speculated that the next version of Apple’s operating system, iOS 8, will include the arrival of the Healthbook application.
The app would aim to gather information on the user’s health with iWatch built-in sensors.
