9to5Mac reports that Apple is testing screens with a resolution of 1704 x 960 pixels that could be implemented in the next iPhone.
Cupertino will reportedly equip both the 4.7 and 5.5 inches models with a display resolution of 1704 x 960 pixels. By contrast the iPhone 5S and 5C feature a resolution of 1136 x 640.
The screen would maintain the same 16:9 ratio of the previous models and the new resolution would keep compatibility with existing apps.
Based on the new resolution, the site writes that the new iPhones would have a resolution of 416 dots per inch for the 4.7-inch screen and 356 dpi for the 5.5-inch model.
A recent rumor claims that the launch of iPhone 6 could take place in September.
