According to 9to5Mac, Cupertino is working on developing a feature that would allow users to use two applications at the same time on the iOS 8.
The split-screen function would be available in landscape mode on a 9.7-inch iPad, while it is not guaranteed on an iPad mini.
Aside from manipulating two applications side by side, the user will be able to interact with both applications, for instance drag and drop content from one to the other.
However, the report adds that all of these functions could be deployed in a later version of the iOS 8.
The next Apple operating system could be unveiled at its Worldwide Developers Conference on June 2.
