iFun.de reported that superiors at German Apple stores instructed employees not to take holidays during the month of September, a possible indication that the launch of the device could take place in that timeframe.
A report by 9to5Mac claimed that the two iPhone 6 models could feature a screen with a resolution of 1704 x 960 pixels.
The same 16:9 ratio would be maintained and the new resolution would keep compatibility with existing apps.
Given the new resolution, the site writes that the devices will have a resolution of 416 dots per inch for the 4.7-inch screen and 356 dpi for the 5.5-inch model.
This week AT&T announced the launch of the voice-over-LTE calling service for a few market areas in the U.S.
Users will be able to make calls while browsing the Internet at the same time, without interruption of any kind.
The iPhone 6 and the iOS 8 are expected to complement each other to support VoLTE calls.
Several leaked photos made their way online this week.
3D renders of schematics were published by Chinese site Wei Feng, reportedly originating from the production line of the iPhone 6, possibly from Foxconn.
The schematics were supposedly of the 4.7-inch model and appeared to match the ones published by Japanese magazine MacFan last month.
Pictures of the larger 5.5-inch model were shared by French site Nowhereelse.fr, besides those of the 4.7-inch variant.
Both cases have a thickness of 7 mm, with the 4.7-inch model measuring 138 mm in length and 67 mm in width, and the phablet version, called the “iPhone 6S,” being 157 millimeters long and 81 millimeters wide.
Comparisons between the rumored next Apple smartphone and various products available on the market were rife this week.
French website Nowhereelse.fr posted photos of a mockup of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 in comparison to the iPhone 5S.
The pictures present the device’s rumored specs, including rounded edges, round speaker ports, a round LED flash port and a protruding rear camera.
A physical mockup of the 5.5-inch phablet iPhone was compared to the iPhone 5S by Japanese site Rocket News 24.
The images showcase the difference in size between the two models.
Another comparison was made by 9to5Mac between an iPhone mockup and the iPad Air, iPad mini, iPhone 4/4S, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, and iPod touch.
The same site posted a video that placed the iPhone 6 in parallel with the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One M8.
The clip showed that all devices have an almost identical size given the fact that their screens measure somewhere around 5 inches.
Another comparison between the iPhone 6 and the HTC One (M8) was provided by Chinese website Moscoat.
The iPhone 6 appears smaller and thinner than the HTC’s M8, which seems taller and thinner than the Apple smartphone.
