George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin wedding: the couple to have a ‘Downton Abbey wedding’?

Now new rumors have surfaced about the location of the nuptials.

According to Daily Mail, the Oscar-winning actor and his lawyer fiancée will tie the knot in Highclere Castle, the filming location of the series “Downton Abbey.”

The 53-year-old actor became interested in the place after visiting it with his fiancée.

Last week the two visited Highclere Castle, situated near London, and Amal Alamuddin was reportedly amazed by the castle’s beauty.

“George became close friends with Hugh Bonneville, who plays Lord Robert Crawley, when they did Monuments Men together last year,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“And they really hit it off. He contacted Hugh and asked him to arrange a private tour of the castle. Amal was blown away.”

“When he saw his bride-to-be’s reaction to the spectacular Victorian castle, set on 1,000 acres of parkland, he began making some discrete inquires about having their wedding performed there.”

Other speculation on wedding’s location suggest Lake Como or “an Italian village.”

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin were engaged last month.
