Specifically, Apple didn’t succeed in finding a partner to provide thin batteries in large quantities. But now it seems that this problem has been solved thanks to Chinese manufacturing company Sunwoda Electronics.

According to Chinese site Laoyaoba (Via GforGames), Apple has reportedly contracted Sunwoda to provide 20 million batteries for the device.

Last May it was rumored that in the course of 2014 Apple asked its partners to produce 80 million units.

The report adds that Cupertino plans to produce 20 million 5.5-inch iPhone 6 devices by the end of 2014, which is in line with rumors claiming that a total of 80 million iPhone 6 units are set to be manufactured this year.

Rumors about the launch have indicated that Apple will reveal the iPhone 6 with a 5.5-inch display in 2015, while other speculations point to the end of 2014.
