According to sources cited by Taiwan’s Economic Daily News (via Reuters), Apple’s major subcontractor has launched a major recruitment campaign.

The report claims that 100 000 additional hires have been made, which is the most massive recruitment ever undertaken by the company.

Pegatron has also strengthened its staff in anticipation of the smartphone.

Foxconn is responsible for 70% of the production of the new iPhone, with the rest being handled by Pegatron.

The timing fits with previous rumors and the device could be expected to be launched in September.
