iPhone 6 release date rumors: possible launch on October 14th during ‘incredibly busy’ month

iPhone 6 concept

Citing a source familiar with an internal Apple Retail Store meeting, MacRumors reports that the rumored iPhone 6 could launch on October 14th.

According to the site’s source, a senior Store Leader called it an “immense” day for the company, with the entire month of October being an “incredibly busy” one for Apple and its stores.

In addition, a media event is said to be scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 16, where the device is expected to be unveiled.

If true this may indicate that Apple wants to break with tradition as October 14th falls on a Tuesday and the company is known to have released new iPhones on Fridays.

It also means that there would be a larger timeframe between the handset’s debut and its launch on the market.

Last week a report announced that the next iPhone and iOS 8 will be announced at a mid-September event.

The iWatch, OS X Yosemite, new Macs and new iPads are also rumored to be presented by Apple in October.

iPhone 6 rumors: sapphire displays not likely to become reality

Market research firm TrendForce claims that Apple’s manufacturing partners haven’t receive the material needed for the production of the smartphone.

The publication writes that shipping of the sapphire panels to suppliers should have already started in June ahead of the rumored September release.

“Yet, the research institute did not discover demands for smartphone cover glass. The sapphire glass version new iPhone will be issued in limited volumes this year, mostly because sapphire ingot manufacturers yield rates were lower than forecasts and issues involved in sapphire glass processing,” TrendForce wrote.

In addition, limited sapphire demand hasn’t generated a “price uptick” as sapphire ingot, substrate and patterned sapphire substrate (PSS) prices have dropped in July.

As far as the iWatch is concerned, analysts are skeptical towards the possibility that the device will incorporate sapphire glass, with “further observations” required.

“Since sapphire glass processing is relatively difficult, it would be problematic to mass produce sapphire watch cover glass,” TrendForce wrote. “Additionally, sapphire glass processing will become even more strenuous if the wearable device uses flexible OLED panels.”

Last year Apple signed a $578m contract with GT Advanced Technologies, a company that processes the sapphire, sparking rumors that the smartphone will feature the material.

Orlando Bloom and Justin Bieber had a fight over Miranda Kerr?

Orlando Bloom has reportedly attempted to punch Justin Bieber on Wednesday in a Spanish club in Ibiza.

TMZ wrote that, according to a version of the story, Orlando came into altercation with Bieber after he was allegedly offended by the British actor.

In fact, the site reported that they have received different versions of the incident, the other being that the Canadian singer extended his hand to Bloom and he refused it.

Bloom didn’t reportedly manage to punch Bieber in the altercation.

Rumors have circulated in the media alleging that Orlando’s former wife, Miranda Kerr, and Justin Bieber got close after a Victoria’s Secret show in November 2012.

The story seems a little strange taking into consideration Bieber’s age in 2012, as he turned 18 on March 1 that year, while Miranda Kerr was 29 at the time. Plus, the supermodel was still married to Bloom in 2012.

Also, Bloom was photographed together with Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend, at a party in April this year.

Another strange thing is that after the incident Justin published a photo on his Instagram account with Miranda Kerr in a swimsuit and associated an image of a crown symbol to it. Later, the picture was deleted.

He also posted a picture of Bloom, who was apparently crying.

Anyway, all this fuss in based on rumors. And yet why did this accident happen?

0n July 21, during the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy, Saldana wore an outfit signed by Louis Vuitton that seemed to reveal a baby bump.

The actress shared on her Instagram account a photo from the premiere, where a growing baby belly can be seen.

Dating rumors about the couple appeared last year when they were seen together at the premiere after-party of the movie Star Trek Into Darkness.

Zoë Saldana and Italian artist Marco Perego got married in a secret ceremony in England last summer.

iPhone 6 leaked photos show volume/power flex cable, SIM card tray

Photos of leaked components for the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 have been share by Taiwanese website Apple.club.tw.

The parts in the pics include the power and volume flex cables and SIM trays, as well as a longer flex cable whose purpose is unknown.

The two cables differ from the components already seen in previous leaks, such as the shorter space between the volume buttons and the mute buttons.

In addition, the cables connected to the standby button appear different in shape.

Five iPhone 6 nano SIM trays are also pictured, out of which three are painted in blue, a color that hasn’t been associated with the iPhone yet.

iPhone 6 leaked photos show bare logic boards

The photos were published by Chinese repair firm GeekBar and spotted by Nowhereelse.fr.

The logic boards of the upcoming iPhone models are placed in comparison with that of the iPhone 5S and both appear larger in size.

The components of the iPhone 6 models appear similar but they have two different serial numbers: 820-3675-04 and 820-2486-09.

Another distinct aspect between the two is the design and the screw hole layout.

Citing its Chinese sources, Nowhereelse.fr writes that there might be a small space to accommodate an NFC chip on both models.

Last week the French site posted a series of photos of the logic board of the iPhone 6.

5.5-inch iPhone 6, iWatch release date in December reportedly unlikely

iWatch concept

A report earlier today claimed that the phablet-sized version of the next iPhone and the iWatch could be launched in December.

However, according to 9to5Mac’s Ben Lovejoy this doesn’t seem probable at all.

Firstly, he argues that it isn’t in Apple’s tradition to announce a new product in December.

This is because of the fact that holiday gift purchases have already been made by that time and for those who would opt for gadgets there is Black Friday which falls on 28th November this year.

The launch of the 27-inch iMacs and Mac Pro in December was likely caused by production delays, he writes, especially as this type of professional machines are hardly affected by holiday shopping.

Last week 9to5Mac reported that Cupertino hasn’t made a final decision regarding the 5.5-inch iPhone.

The 4.7-inch model is reportedly at a more advanced stage, with tests completed and production started.

5.5-inch iPhone 6, iWatch release date rumors: likely in December?

iWatch concept

After reports claimed that the production of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 started this month, GforGames alleges that the 5.5-inch version will enter the manufacturing stage in September.

Previous reports have suggested that production on the next-gen iPad Mini and iPad Air will also start in September.

The report adds that the larger model of the iPhone 6 could arrive on the market in December 2014.

The site’s sources also suggest that the rumored iWatch will join the 5.5-inch smartphone on its December release.

As the iWatch is a gadget that is set to accompany a smartphone, the site writes that if it isn’t ready before the 4.7-inch iPhone is unveiled, then a launch alongside the phablet iPhone is highly probable.

iPhone 6 rumors: photos show logic board, NFC support possible

Nowhereelse.fr has shared a series of photos that appear to show the logic board of the iPhone 6.

The French website claims that the next iPhone will support NFC and ultra-fast 802.11ac Wi-Fi that will allow communication with other devices at a consistent speed.

Currently the iPhone 5S has a WiFi 802.11 a / b / g / n chip capable of reaching speeds of up to 600 Mbps for transfer, but the 802.11 ac can achieve speeds of up to 1.7 Gbps and 7 Gbps.

The NFC technology has been rumored to be implemented in the iPhone for several years, and once again it is expected that the iPhone 6 will feature it.

The two features cannot be confirmed from the pictures presented.

The iPhone 6 is said to be officially presented in mid-September, most likely in the second or third week.
