Samsung among manufacturers of Apple’s A9 chips, report says

Digitimes reports that Apple has placed orders at Samsung and GlobalFoundries to manufacture the A9 processors that will equip the iPhone and iPad in 2015.

Also, the A9 processor will be engraved in 14-nanometer LPE (low power early) as speculated by earlier rumors.

Production of these processors will begin early next year at the Fab8 Samsung factory located in New York which is able to process 60 thousand wafers per month.

The report also claims that Cupertino is considering the possibility of including Intel and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company as suppliers.

Samsung is rumored to produce 30% of all processors required for the 2015 iPhone and iPad.
