According to 9to5Mac, Apple currently plans to hold a keynote in mid-September, probably the second or third week, to announce the iPhone 6 and offer details on iOS 8.
The news corresponds with previous rumors about the presentation of the device.
The report notes that the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will be part of the event, while a final decision has yet to be made regarding the 5.5-inch phablet model.
The smaller iPhone model is said to be at a more advanced stage than its bigger brother, with tests completed and production started on a large scale.
Sources have confirmed to The Wall Street Journal that there are manufacturing problems with the tactile sensors on the larger 5.5-inch iPhone display.
The site writes that Apple is awaiting the release of the final iOS 8 version in order to concentrate all its efforts on iOS 8.1 and iOS 9.
